Peter Cotton – A “Modern” British Columbian

In the archives, there are thousands of fascinating life-stories preserved in the form of journals, letters, documents, photographs and works of art. One such story is that of designer Peter Cotton. Cotton was a prominent furniture designer, as well as one of Victoria’s most distinguished architects. His records show his life in Vancouver, as a soldier in the Seaforth Highlanders during the Second World War, and as a furniture designer with his company, “Perpetua.” See some of his award-winning design sketches, here at the BC Archives.
