Modernization
Learn more about government’s intention to modernize the museum to protect our historic holdings and provide better access to our collections.
The mandate of the BC Archives is to preserve records of enduring value to the province so that they remain accessible to the public. You can access records in person or remotely or learn more about our services and collections at workshops, tours, community events and exhibitions.
We promote our services and collections to the public through events, exhibitions, tours and workshops. We participate in community events across British Columbia to educate the public about our services and the types of records we hold. Staff provide tours of our facility and develop workshops to teach people about our collections, how to use the BC Archives, and a variety of research topics. We also create engaging exhibitions and displays in the Royal BC Museum and Archives’ gallery and display spaces about key collections in our holdings and the work we do.
