Beyond the Beat: Music of Resistance and Change showcases music as a powerful catalyst for social and political change with historical and contemporary examples.  Jodi Giesbrecht will share about the development of and challenges of creating the exhibit and some of her favorite stories behind the artifacts. 

About the Speaker

Dr Jodi Giesbrecht joined the Royal BC Museum as the Vice President of Archives, Collections and Research in 2024. Previously, Jodi was Director of Research and Head Curator at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she oversaw research and curatorial development of the CMHR’s core galleries and temporary exhibitions, as well as collections management and stewardship.
