Learn more about government’s intention to modernize the museum to protect our historic holdings and provide better access to our collections.
On May 25, 2017, three staff members from the Royal BC Museum—Curator Dr. Richard Hebda, Head of Knowledge Leah Best and Peace project coordinator Melissa Knight—headed up to Doig Days to talk with people from the community.
They set up their presentations in a giant tipi and chatted with numerous adults, about 500 kids and a visiting Japanese ESL class with almost no English-language skills.
In June, 2017, Dr. Ken Marr, the Royal BC Museum’s Curator of Botany, headed to Northeastern BC for a round of free community presentations and workshops to report out on Royal BC Museum findings in the region and to help build skills in plant identification.
