Modernization
Learn more about government’s intention to modernize the museum to protect our historic holdings and provide better access to our collections.
In accordance with the changes to British Columbia’s pandemic restrictions, the BC Archives reference room access procedures will be changing to improve access to our holdings.
As of July 19 researchers will once again be able to use access kiosks to identify records, retrieve and return microfilm reels, listen to and watch digital content on the A/V station, consult card catalogues and hardcopy finding aids, submit call slips for on-demand retrievals and consult with a reference archivist.
Access will continue to operate on an appointment only basis in order to control capacity. Please see our Reopening FAQ page for more information.
